ABOUT ME
Hi! My name is Ayla Kinnaird and I am a Junior Marketing and International Business student. I am currently the Business Development Manager at the student newspaper, the Diamondback.
I am twenty-one and a Scorpio. I live in Hunterdon County, New Jersey with my Dad, Mom, and two younger brothers. I also have two cats named Caspar and Clyde, however, I consider myself more of a dog person. I recently got my United States citizenship after moving here from England when I was seven.

I have a global mindset and love to travel and experience different cultures. I really enjoy being creative and finding ways to express my creativity. I like to design and making things look nice. I also really enjoy baking, especially for other people. I have recently become more interested in cooking while in College and I enjoy experimenting with food and trying new things.

Gap Year
Taking a year off after high school to live in Europe was transformational for me.

After high school, I took a gap year before starting at the University of Maryland. I spend 6 months living in the United Kingdom working primarily in a coffee shop but also spending time working for a marketing consulting company.

I then went to Santiago de Compostela in Spain for 4 months living with a Spanish family teaching their twin 7-year-old's English and taking classes at the local University. At the end of my time there I spent a week walking part of the Camino de Santiago and I look forward to going back and doing more in the future. Living and working in Europe opened my eyes to the opportunities that the world has to offer. I grew up so much in the ten months that I was abroad and grew in so many other aspects as well. I became much more confident and felt that I was more independent and ready for college. I plan on continuing to travel and would love the opportunity to live in a foreign country in the future.
